Rosemont heads for VOBIS GOLD

This coming Sunday at Oaklands sees the opening day of selling at the Inglis Sales Complex, for the two days of the lucrative Inglis VOBIS GOLD Yearling Sale.

With an outstanding draft of 16 high-quality yearlings, the consignment offers something that caters for all buyers.

The first of the draft to go through the sales ring is Lot 3, a chestnut colt by Vinery Stud’s Big Brown, out of the stakes-winning Flying Spur mare Vignor.

With Big Brown recording his first southern hemisphere two-year-old winner on Friday, this impressive colt, who is a half-brother to the Listed placed Dysfunction, is sure to create plenty of interest.

Another of the draft that is likely to shine in the Melbourne sale ring is Lot 14, an outstanding colt by one of this season’s leading sires Snitzel, out of the Group Two-winning Umatilla mare Yakama.

This colt wouldn't have been out of place at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and if it was not for a small injury early this year, he may well have been. Having completely healed, this colt is set to star on day one of the sale.

Lot 200, a filly by Myboycharlie, the sire of recent Group One-winning juvenile Peggy Jean, could be one of the leading fillies from our draft.

Out of the Rory’s Jester mare Respect Sensei, this filly comes from a pedigree which includes stakes winners Twilight Hour, Sequita, Never Quit, Super Sequel, Calchris and Calcatta.

We all knew how special Sunline was, not only as the winner of an astonishing 13 Group One races, but as an ambassador for racing, and Lot 228, a colt by the Group One Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, is out of a Songstar, a half-sister to the Champion Sunline.

Our second last lot through the ring is Lot 327, a filly of extreme substance, and based on pedigree alone could develop into an Oaks filly during her Classic season. By Coolmore Stud’s High Chaparral, the filly is out of the Group Two-winning Housebuster mare Maze, herself a half-sister to Listed winners Barlinnie and Penitentiary.
