Skewiff’s daughter adds further black type

Currently in foal to Rosemont Stud’s dual G1-winning son of Show A Heart in Toorak Toff, dual G3-winning Mookta mare Skewiff has received quite a few pedigree updates of late.

Going back about a month ago Skewiff’s current 3yo, the Street Sense filly Vision Splendid in the Guy Walter stable, broke her maiden in fine style at Warwick Farm over 1400m, while the current 2yo filly out of the mare Enquare has been in fine form in Brisbane.

Running third in the Listed Lancaster Stakes over 1200m behind Missy Longstocking, the Stratum filly produced another eye catching run this time at Eagle Farm, running home strongly to finish second behind that same filly in the Listed Ambassador Travel Hampden Stakes over 1200m on June 8.

Purchased for $45,000 at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale, the Jason McLachlan-trained filly has had five starts for a two length victory at Doomben and two Listed placed efforts, indicating that as she matures just like her dam did, that victory in stakes company is well within her grasp.

Skewiff’s current weanling, a filly by Flying Spur’s G2-winning son Shaft was sold through the draft of Rosemont Stud at the recent Inglis Great Southern Sale to Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock for $15,000, the very same connections who raced Skewiff throughout her career.

Covering an excellent book of mares in his first seasons at stud last year that can be viewed by clicking his picture to the right, Toorak Toff is set to stand the following season at a fee of $16,500 (inc. GST) and will be joined by Rosemont Stud’s new recruit, the four-time G1 winner and internationally acclaimed Champion Sprinter Starspangledbanner.

Danehill’s G1 Golden Slipper winner Danzero will also once again stand the following season at Rosemont Stud at a fee of $11,000 (inc. GST).
