Making his debut in the Restricted Maiden (2 & 3YO) over 1000m on the Polytrack at Singapore overnight, three-year-old Boomarang Deluxe produced the goods to salute by a length.
Sold by Rosemont Stud at the 2012 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale to Marshall James for $30,000, he was then sold again a few months later at the Horses In training Sale for $80,000 and then found his way to Singapore – you can click here to watch his Breeze Up video.
Racing for the Premier Racing Stable and trainer Steven Burridge, the gelding jumped away from the outside gate and after travelling about five wide for most of the trip, he was eased back to almost last and looked as if he had already run his race.
As the home turn was reached and the leaders kicked on, jockey Kasim A’Isisuhairi began to urged the three-year-old along and he started to make ground on the leaders, catching them at the 50m mark to take the race in an exciting performance, which can be viewed by clicking here.
Out of the stakes placed Favorite Trick mare Sobraine, Boomarange Deluxe looks to have a good amount of ability and should be watched as he progresses through his grades in Singapore.
Rosemont Stud sold the Nicconi half-brother (pictured right) to Bommarang Deluxe on behalf of Balmerino Racing Partnership, good clients of Rosemont, at this year’s Magic Millions Yearling Sale for $150,000 to McEvoy Mitchell Racing. To view the Nicconi colt parading, please click here.
Sobraine has a filly by Not A Single Doubt, the same sire as last season’s unbeaten Group One Blue Diamond winner Miracles Of Life that will head to the 2014 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, while the mare is due to foal this season to Rosemont Stud’s dual Group One winner Toorak Toff.
