Australian bred two year-old fillies fought out the finish of the Group One Allan Robertson Championship at Scottsville in South Africa, with the Rosemont Stud bred Alboran Sea coming out on top, scoring by two and a quarter lengths from Rich Girl.
With the one-two finishing being a coup for Australia, with both fillies being bred here before both being sold at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, it was remarkable that both we also by former Coolmore shuttle stallion Rock Of Gibraltar.
A sibling to stakes-placed Trafalgar Legacy and Light Express being the fifth winner from five to race from Lady’s Light (USA), an imported mare secure by Rosemont Stud.
With the result being a significant one for Rosemont Stud, it is just as exciting to note that the mare produced a cracking Toorak Toff filly and is current in foal to Starspangledbanner.
With the progeny of Toorak Toff set to get underway today at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale, all at Rosemont Stud are extremely excited about the prospects of the fastest Golden Rose winner ever!
