A big day for the colours with good chances at three venues. But everyone at the farm is hoping son of Toorak Toff Iconoclasm’s big day has arrived!
RACE 7 no 13 ICONOCLASM
Big Benson as we call him is set to run a massive race. He won’t know himself with 53kgs today. Banged out of the gates by Linda Meech to sit just off what is expected to be a strong tempo, we can just see the big beautiful boy rolling up to them at the 200m and roughing it out as he does. Been set for this, 1400m specialist and we reckon he deserves a G1 win to his name given how honest he is. God give him strength! Top odds at $13.
RACE 6 no 6 VOLKSTOK’N’BARRELL
He’s $31, but please don’t tell him that! He doesn’t know and he galloped like a horse that can win on Tuesday at Flemington. His first two runs after a long layoff and unsuccessful year in Singapore have told Danny O’Brien that he really really wants to compete and be a winner again. He gets a winners weight here, a confident Brett Prebble and his chance to send himself into a Caulfield Cup. The multiple G1 winner will be strong late and is massive odds given his condition he is in now third up.
RACE 7 no 3 GIFT OF POWER
Extremely classy ex-NZ sprinting mare who is a G2 winner over the ditch. Has a lot of speed and shown that winning two trials for now trainer Anthony Freedman who has a nice opinion of her. Contemplated the G3 How Now at Caulfield but Anthony preferred the 1100m first up rather than the 1200m. Godolphin horse the danger but given how well she has been going, can confidently say she shouldn’t finish out of the first 3. At $5, she’s our best eachway today.
RACE 1 no 10 FREE THRILLS:
Very nice filly trying to pop off her maiden before she goes to bigger and better things. Was Stakes-places as a 2yo so shows plenty of class. The half sister to our now retired Thrillster should be able to get her job done here. Sticky barrier the only real concern.
RACE 3 no 2 HAVADUEL
We have been patient with the son of Savabeel but today looks his day. Up to 1600m, drawn perfectly and given the run of the race by Dylan Dunn, surely he gets his maiden done here!!
